How to plan a weekend trip to Tadoba?
Tadoba is one of the best places in India to sight a Tiger in the Wild. We call it “the Abode of Tigers”, “The Tiger Heaven”, but going on a Safari requires a lot of planning and you cannot just appear there and think of a safari. Booking opens three months ahead and you always need to book the safari first and then think of the resort. Tadoba is just 100 to 140 kms south of Nagpur depending upon which gate you are talking about. You need to plan & book way ahead of time else you will not get a chance book a safari.
So does this mean that an impromptu decision to to plan a weekend trip to Tadoba is a complete no no? Probably yes but there are always way to somehow make it happen. Resorts booking is generally not an issue as there are many over there. The real issue is getting a safari slot. Always better to check online once as there might be available one or two for the core zones and also chances of getting a safari in a buffer zone are very high. Assume you luck has run out even for the buffer zone, guess what not all tickets are to be sold online for Buffer zones and many tickets are to be sold at the ticket counter only and you can always get a ticket over there at the ticket counter!!
