Popular Wildlife Getaways ex-Nagpur

below is the list of all wildlife getaways ex-nagpur that are at drivable distance from Nagpur.

  • Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve

approx. 100 to 140 kms from Nagpur (depending on which Gate you are talking about). Tadoba can be called the Tiger Heaven on the earth where pretty much you will not come out of the park without sighting a tiger (you need to do at least 4 to 6 safaris). The home of Maya, Choti Tara, Sonam, Gabbar and lot more.

[Any questions, send us an email to  [email protected] To get complete details of all sanctuaries & wildlife getaways ex-nagpur, download WildTrails India App – it also has complete list of all sanctuaries, step by step procedure to book the safari as well as the accommodation but if you need help, as always drop us an email to [email protected] ]

  • Pench National Park

approx. 70 to 120 kms from Nagpur (again depending on which Gate you are talking about). Pench is not only a tiger reserve but also the forest where the famous Jungle Book was based on. The home of the famous Collar-wali

  • Kanha National Park

probably the most beautiful forest of this country and  yet another tiger reserve and the only place where you get Barasingha and of course the famous Munna tiger (T17) which has the “CAT” inscribed on its forehead. The forest is approx 275 kms from Nagpur.

  • Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary

just 60 kms from Nagpur and yet another home of many tigers and home of famous Jai 9Jai is no longer in Umred and no one knows where he is now 🙁 )

  • Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary

yet another Tiger Reserve hardly 120 kms from Nagpur

  • Bor Wildlife Sanctuary

yet another abode of tiger and under 65 kms from Nagpur

  • Melghat Tiger Reserve

Around 250 kms to the east of Nagpur you will get this Tiger reserve

  • Tippeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary

Just 170 kms south of Nagpur you have this sanctuary at the border of Telangana and Maharastra

  • Satpura National Park

240 kms north of Nagpur, you have this sanctuary which is situated in Madhya Pradesh

  • Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

one of the very famous and very beautiful tiger reserves and is in the top 5 tiger reserves of this country but the farthest among this list from Nagpur and is approx. 430 kms north of Nagpur but if you leave very early morning, you can easily be there on time for the afternoon safari.

Looking at the list, seems Nagpur is the only place in India which is close to so many sanctuaries and so many Tiger Reserves and probably has the maximum number of tigers for any any given city within the drivable distance radius and probably why  can’t we nomenclature Nagpur as the Tiger Capital of the India – actually we can go ahead and say, Nagpur as the Tiger Capital of the World!!
