Spreading over 7019.75 acres, these villages have been declared as Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary under Wild Life Protection Act 1972.
One can find several rare species of birds in this sanctuary. Apart from local and Indian birds, numbers of migratory birds from different countries can be found here during winter season . Thus, it is also called Winter Capital of those migratory birds. Nakta, Lalshar, Mail, Dighouch, Gagan, Gairi, Chaha, Karan, Silli, Harial, Adhani, Ratwa, Gaiber (White and Black) are some famous species of birds seen in Kusheshwarasthan Bird Sanctuary. Apart from beautiful birds, picturesque natural view of this sanctuary mesmerizes visitors with its serene beauty. This bird sanctuary is one of the topmost tourist destinations in Darbhanga region.
