Ghatigaon Wildlife Sanctuary

Ghatigaon Sanctuary (also known as the Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary) is a wildlife sanctuary situated near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, India. The sanctuary has a significant population of the great Indian bustard. The park was established in 1981.

It comprises of a total area of 511 sq. kms. The Great Indian Bustard, Black Buck, Chital, Monkey, Wolf, Blue Bull, Wild Boar, Fox, Hyena etc. are among the prominent fauna spotted at the sanctuary.

Dhuan HanumanTemple’. ‘Dev-Cave’, ‘Gupteshwar Temple’ are some of the popular religious spots neighbouring Ghatigaon apart from Gwalior, Sonagiri, Shivpuri, Datia, Jhansi, Chanderi, Orchha etc. which are also situated close to the Sanctuary.

Vehicles of M.P. Tourism Development Corporation are available. Tourists here have the option of accommodation at private hotels or M.P Tourism Development Corporation hotels at Gwalior or Shivpuri.
