Jhajjar Bacholi (Bachauli) Wildlife Sanctuary
This Sanctuary is situated 15 Km. from Anandpur Sahib city in the Government forest area of District Rupnagar. It has an area of 116.00 ha (i.e. 289 acres of which 218 acres area belongs to Village Jhajjar, 55 acres to village Bachauli and 16 acres to village Lamlehri). This area was first declared as Wildlife Sanctuary vide Punjab Government Notification No. 40/3/98/Ft-IV/11500 dated 9-9-1998 and final notification was issued vide Punjab Government Notification No. 34/31/03/Ft-IV/19747 dated 11-12-03. Sambar, Barking Deer, Hare, Jackal, Python, Cobra, Rat snake, Leopard (migratory) etc. are found here in this Sanctuary area.
