Nagarhole National Park Kabini

Nagarhole National Park offers a perfect wildlife destination with some great wildlife sightings for all the wildlife lovers. The river that flows in the southern part of Nagarhole, which divides Nagarhole and Bandipur (the section of the forest that is adjoining this river ) is called Kabini, which is approx. 70 kms south of Mysore and approx. 210 km south of Bangalore. 

It is one of the densely populated tiger reserves in India and offers a wide diversity of flora and fauna. Nagarhole National Park is named after Nagarhole (Cobra river in the local language, Kannada). Nagarhole is situated in the two districts of Mysore and Kodagu in the state of Karnataka. 

It was originally constituted into a sanctuary in the year 1955 covering an area of 258 sq. Kms and subsequently enlarged to include the adjoining areas of Mysore district and now extends over an area of 643.39 sq. km which was given the status of a National Park in 1983.

You can spot many species of birds and animals alongside the riverbanks of the Kabini river. Kabini National Park is extremely popular for various reasons. One of the main reasons is Kabini Tiger Sightings and Black Panther sightings.  

Kabini is Famous for sighting Tigers, Leopards, Black Panther, Elephants, Gaurs, Sloth Bears, Wild Dogs, Plethora of Birds, Crocs. Kabini is also blessed with a Black Panther and people from all over the world visit Kabini to witness it and photograph it. 

Kabini too is one such delight, where one can go to check out some rare sightings of animals at the Nagarhole National Park. Found alongside the riverbanks of the Kabini river are many species of birds and animals, making it a much sought-after destination, especially for the wildlife photographers.
