Rangapahar Wildlife Sanctuary

Rangapahar Reserve Forest is one of the famous tourist spot of Dimapur it is known for its wildlife. The conservation of the Rangapahar Reserve Forest was established in the year of 1961 because of the urgency that occur to protect the vegetation and wildlife from land encroachment. In the year of 1986 it was collaborated with Nagaland Government and few NGOs who declared it as Reserve Forest. The whole area of the forest was about 8804 hectares which was later reduced to 176 hectares due to land encroachment.
