The roads leading to this park are currently under construction as the government seems to be widening them. So, be prepared for a drive over rough terrain. If you are not used to driving on single lanes with traffic on both sides, then then it can be a bit unnerving. The route is well mapped in Google, so one can simply fire up the Google Maps app and be on the way.

Safari timings are 06.00 am and 07.30 am and again at  3.00pm to 4.30pm and the duration is approx. 45 min to 1 hour. Please note that a minimum of 7 passengers are required for the staff to even conduct a Safari. So it’s better to go in a group rather than waiting for others to satisfy the “minimum condition”. It costs approx. Rs. 600 per person in Jeep and Rs. 500 per person in Bus and maybe if the minimum condition is not met, maybe if you buy tickets for all 7 people, they might start the safari. Again, please note that these rates are for Indian citizens. Foreigners are charged at a slightly higher rate. Please note that during peak monsoon season,  they don’t run any safaris. The mode of safari is usually a jeep but can also be a canter. Please note that jeep capacity is 10 people while Bus capacity is 21 people

It is one of a  kind of jungle experiences. Filled with a lot of Bushes and Dense forest. The forest drive is out of a world experience if you love forests. It’s very dense with lush greenery all around and with many waterholes here & there. Flora and fauna are feasts to the eyes. Easy to reach, affordable pricing of Safari, organized by Department of Forest, Govt of Karnataka. Staffs are very knowledgeable and courteous. Talk to them freely to understand the demography of the area. 

Don’t expect to sight a tiger or a leopard, these are very very rare sightings in Bhadra. Expect surely to see monkeys, deers, peacocks, maybe elephants, and Indian bison (gaur) if you are lucky.

Please carry sufficient food as nothing is available in camp except Tea.

[WildTrails won’t help with safari packages for Muthodi but we do for Bhadra Tiger reserve from Lakkavalli which is closer to Shimoga. Muthodi is the southern point of the Bhadra Tiger Reserve while Lakkavalli is the northern point of the Bhadra Tiger Reserve.
